In 1984, Aris Damoulakis opened a billiard hall in Chania. Not because it was a business opportunity — because it was what he loved.
Aris didn't just play billiards. He lived it. Over the decades, he competed in international and national tournaments, earning the respect of players across the world. But his biggest achievement wasn't on any scoreboard. It was building a community. Most billiard players in Chania today will tell you the same thing: they learned the game because of Aris.
That culture is still the foundation of everything ARAMIS is today.
ARAMIS has always been a family affair.
Aris and Dimitra built this place together. Dimitra is the silent force of ARAMIS — her presence runs through everything, from the immaculate state of the hall to the drinks behind the bar, the food from the kitchen, and the welcome at the door. She's also an accomplished billiard player herself, though she never made it her profession. She simply loves the game, the same way she loves this place.
Sissi — their daughter — now leads ARAMIS into its next chapter. She grew up in this club. She knows every table, every regular, every detail of what makes this place what it is. Under her direction the venue has evolved — the terrace, the bar programme, the events calendar — while staying true to what Aris and Dimitra built.
You'll still find Aris at the club. And you'll still find Dimitra everywhere.
That's not nostalgia — that's how a family business works.
Since 1984, ARAMIS has called different addresses in Chania home. Each move brought more space, better equipment, a bigger community. The current venue — open since 2021 — is the fullest expression of what Aris originally imagined: a proper billiard hall with a kitchen, a bar, and a terrace worthy of the White Mountains behind it.
